Ramesses II is quite possibly the greatest builder in the history of ancient Egypt. Between temples, monumental statues, and urban foundations, he is more visible to us, within the landscape of Egypt, than any other pharaoh. In this course we will explore what is left of his triumphant legacy, spending each week at a different site in order to fully appreciate the archaeology of the ruler who more than any other defined what classical Egypt looked like.
