We have all heard of Cleopatra, but the last Ptolemaic queen was not the first woman to become pharaoh! In this course we will take a look at the history of Egypt through the lens of the powerful women who shaped it. Queens, princesses, female pharaohs, and other women of power were an important part of Egyptian history: their lives had long lasting effects and consequences, which we will explore from the Old Kingdom to the Ptolemaic period.
