Chiara Strazzulla studied Ancient History and Classical Archaeology at Pisa, Italy, and at Cardiff University and holds a PhD in Ancient History, also from Cardiff University, with a thesis on Etruscan ethnicity in the Middle and Late Roman Republic. Her main areas of interest are Etruscan and Roman archaeology, epigraphy, and the interactions between the Romans and other neighbouring ancient peoples. She is passionate about fieldwork and has taken part in several excavation campaigns. Chiara is an active novelist and playwright, with works published in Italy, Switzerland and Germany, and when not writing or researching she is very fond of sailing, singing, attending theatre shows, and going on hiking trips through moors and mountains.
