Theme: Cardiff from the Romans to the Normans to the Butes 

Starting at the iconic City Hall in the Civic Centre, moving on around the university area and Alexandra Gardens, through Bute Park with its arboretum, the remains of the Blackfriars monastery, Gorsedd stones and footings for an art gallery, down Westgate Street, where the quays on the Taff were located in earlier centuries. The tour will continue around the city centre, where modern developments are uncovering evidence of Cardiff’s past, finishing at Cardiff Castle, where the Romans built their first fort in 55AD.
