The Bible is not simply a religious text which links two religions together – Judaism and Christianity. The Bible is both a focal point and a source for us to examine the ancient world. It is a window through which we can look and discover but it also needs to be scrutinised and examined with regard to its reliability. As a source, it can be linked with material evidence and cross-referenced with other sources so that a wider perspective might provide deeper understanding of both religious beliefs and the history of the so-called Bible Lands.
