Hadrian’s Wall spanned the north of England separating the Celtic tribes in England from the Caledonians in Scotland. How did the Roman Province of Britannia get on in the three hundreds years after the building of the wall until the reign of Honorius (384-423CE) who loses the province during empire wide conflict. Who kept the central heating running and the potholes filled? We examine the history and the events in Britain as the western Roman Empire collapses.
