The life of Boudica marks a turning point in the Roman history of Britain. This iconic woman has captured the imagination of many over the years and it is difficult to separate fact from fiction but was she a ‘legend’, a psychopath or a woman scorned? She is synonymous with power and independence in a dangerous world. Life was very different after the rebellion of 60CE which shocked the great Roman empire and put Britannia on the map! What were the circumstances surrounding the rebellion, were lessons learned and how was Britain ruled subsequently.
