Explore how the beautiful market town of Cowbridge has developed and thrived since its early days
as the Roman settlement of Bovium through to the present day. Starting with a visit to the Museum
of Cowbridge in the Town Hall (formerly a House of Correction) continuing along the High Street
where the burgages of medieval Cowbridge fronted the old Roman Road and in the 18 th century
hostelries were built to accommodate stagecoach passengers en route to Ireland . The tour
continues on to the Old Hall and its gardens, the Physic Garden, the medieval town walls, the old
Grammar School and the Church of the Holy Cross. Following the tour there will be time to have
lunch in one of the many cafes and restaurant, or a little retail therapy in the wide range of
independent shops.
Pick-up from Insole Court at 10am and return c3.30pm
